I'm a 33 female with legal and audit background and workex of ~10 years. What is the best course for me to transition to a different profile? Should I take the GMAT focus or EA?
Hi DishaVepai,

You should prefer the GMAT. It'll give you more options if you haven't locked your target schools down. Of course, if you've already done that, you could reach out to those schools and ask them which tests they accept and whether they have a preference.

Hi DishaVepai Happy to pitch in my thoughts. What function or industry do you wish to switch to? There is no doubt that doing a 180-degree pivot becomes difficult as your experience grows, but it is not impossible. I have observed that startups are the best places to experiment with a role change. But of course, you will have to show that you are a go-getter and have done deep preparation for the skills you will need in a startup, which are mostly very sharp Excel and analytical skills. You can also look for opportunities through referrals and within your own network.
I strongly believe that if you are able to demonstrate a role switch pre-MBA, you almost double your chances of an admit from a good MBA program, provided your other stats are aligned. Schools want people who can navigate their careers independently and do not just look at MBA programs as an exit strategy if they fail to hack growth. Having said that, you have shared too little information for me to guide you further. If looking at an MBA, Indian programs would be more understanding of your case.

Feel free to read an old post of mine which may be relevant
