I’ve decided to start documenting my GMAT journey from Day 1 and hopefully keep updating this thread as I make progress.
I’m still at the very beginning, but I thought it would be useful to share where I’m starting from, what I’m using to prepare, and, hopefully, how things develop over the next few months.
After spending quite a bit of time comparing different GMAT preparation options, I recently tried the Target Test Prep (TTP) trial. So far, I’ve been really impressed.
What stood out to me was the structure and depth of the course. The concepts are explained in a lot of detail; there are plenty of practice questions, and the material is broken down into manageable sections rather than feeling like one huge mountain to climb.
I also really like the personalized study plan. Being able to set a target score and timeline and then have the preparation organized around that is exactly the kind of structure I was looking for. The analytics are another feature I’m looking forward to using more seriously as I progress, especially to understand where I’m improving and where I still need work.
I have ambitious MBA goals, so I know I need to take this seriously. I’m targeting some of the top MBA programs, which means I’m not looking to simply “get a good enough score.” I want to see how far I can actually push myself while keeping a full-time job.
That said, I’m not starting this thread with a success story. 😅
Right now, I’m at the beginning. There will probably be days when things go really well, days when I struggle with a topic, and probably a few moments where I question why I decided to do this in the first place.
My plan is to keep this thread honest and update it along the way, with study progress, practice test scores, mistakes, lessons learned, weak areas, improvements, and eventually the actual GMAT result.

Goal: A very high GMAT score
MBA goal: Top MBA programs
Current stage: Just getting started
Hopefully, documenting the journey will not only keep me accountable but also be useful to someone else starting their GMAT preparation around the same time.
