I was notified to submit my new score - so what do you think that would be- "yes" , "no" or "Waitlists" ?
yah, i agree. 'cause they have already sent out the definite YES's, NO's, and Waitlists. We're the iffy's. It's pretty much 50/50 now. Sigh... max 1 more month to go. Good luck everybody!
Did you improve your score? If so and substantially, it will probably be "yes" for you. If you are within 20 points of your original score, most likely, it is "waitlist". If you didn't improve at all, then "no".

Sorry to hear that...

On the bright side you were able to raise your quant score. So maybe you can spin it to display your quant abilities.

Anything to market yourself.

Thanks a lot guys.See I have so many positive points:

1.Diverse Industry- With absolute latest technologies, with big Telecom Giants like Motorola,Lucent,Ericsson,Alcatel
2.Very solid work history.
3.7 years of work experience in India, Saudi Arabia,United States.
4.Not looking for a career change but a transition from technical to techno commercial career.
5.Affiliations with charitable organisations, member of PMI.
6.Executive Program from Indian Institute of Management,Calcutta
7.Attended the info session at Westchester Campus just to let NYU know a bit about me (as I read in earlier posts)-Also got the application refund.
8.Very good recommendations- I got one from my CEO as well.
9.Recommendation from New York University Professor.

Negative ones are pretty less in comparison:

1.Ofcourse Indian origin is a negative factor as NYU always looks out for diversities.
2.Secondly, being a techie again is a negative factor (though I'm not an IT professioal)
3.Less GMAT but not bad -good quants.

Where do you guys think I lack so much that NYU will not give me consideration? But again, you never know.I shall have to keep my fingers crossed.

If you made sure to outline all of these points in your application, I don't think it is too far fetched to allow for a possibility that NYU will overlook your low GMAT score. So, don't give up just yet!

As a point of reference, on BW forum, a female from India with 780 GMAT and 12 years of IT experience was waitlisted last week. So, as you can see, high GMAT score does not automatically get you admitted.

Thanks MBA0007.Everybody here is well aware of the fact that Adcom will consider all the factors and not only one but after all its their decision. We just have to keep hoping for the best.

hm... not bad. assuming a max margin of +100 for a total of 280 seats, there're still ~80 seats left! that's almost 1/3 of the spots still open! heads up everybody =)
