Hello Everyone,
I'm currently doing sales for a small company in Japan. I have been planning to go to business school for a while now, but I wasn't actually planning to take the GMAT for a few years (to gain a bit more experience). However, a few days ago I attended a business school information meeting, and was convinced to apply for 2013 entrance.
I should have started preparing a while ago, but I'm not particularly late either. I'm aiming for a few small Japanese business schools. Japanese schools aren't particularly famous globally, but I want to work in japan, and these schools are well connected here in Japan. So I feel they would be a good match.
I'd be able to get in with a 550. However for a scholarship I'd need at least 600. 650 Would be even better. I've set my goal for 700 because I know that's within my grasp. I'm aiming for 700. 650 is my mid goal. 600 is my "Oh my god, I must have wasted my time" goal.
I'm planning to take the GMAT in December. I can easily put at least 6.5 hours a week. Half an hour Monday through Friday. 2 hours on the weekend. That should get me 97.5 hours I've already put in about 3 hours worth of study. So I'll have 100. I'll probably be able to put in 3 more hours a week here and there. Which will hopefully bring me up to 150 hours by the time I take the test.
Quantative is where I feel strong in. Verbal is probably going to be my weakest area. AWA will not be fun, but still doable. I took an evaluation test and scored a 560. I wasn't able to answer about 30% of the questions. If I work a bit on strategy and then work on types of problems I have difficulty with, I feel I should be able to reach my goal.
I'm looking forward to cooperating with all of you!
