You can get an interview invite at any time until the March 17th deadline. It is all random. Not sure why people don't believe Berkeley's own email messages :)

At this point, if you are outside the bay area and haven't received an interview invite by now ... it's pretty much a wrap, right?

Also, are all of the interviews done on campus or can you meet locally with an alum?

Just spent some time scanning this list while taking a break from writing and reviewing. Everybody loves the hail mary play...

Please add me to roll call for Round 4!!

Haven't heard back from some east coast January applications and trying to branch out with more apps while I still have some time and before work (who now knows I am leaving) squeezes every last drop of my free time!

Interesting tidbit I found out the other day. Our current student government president applied R4 and got in. :)

Good luck to all the R2 people!

Is anyone updating the roll call list on the first page?

Another R4 here... few quick questions to help finish up the app.

I did my undergrad in engineering... so the 'list of quantitative courses' could be pretty long. Are you guys describing the actual courseload or simply listing them? Are you listing every single one or just the obvious ones?

Whats the latest word on going over the word limit on the essays? I've heard it varies hugely, but particularly for those short answer questions... keeping it all within the limit is really, really hard.

How thorough are you getting with your list of 'post-grad extracurricular activities'?

Good luck everyone!

I have a bioengineering degree and just listed a couple (they just want to know you can do it). I believe there is an area to list additionally how you are ready quantitatively where you can list a few more courses...etc.

I wouldn't go over the word limits at all. Not to mention that Cal's application has text fields (not pdf's you upload...etc) that can easily output the word counts.

EC's are always key so you want to list all the main ones you have done without making up stuff or listing things you helped out once for 30 minutes...etc.

engineering degree I would just list a few math courses and then say the rest were engineering courses with lots of quant.

I wouldn't go over the limit too much, but 5-10 words is not too bad. I got in by staying within a 5% limit.

R3 interviews should start going out after R2 deadlines.

Hey Guys,
I'm an R2 applicant, got an interview invite which was conducted on 25th Feb by a Mumbai based alum.
Ok now that you know that you are through the penultimate step of the admission process you become more anxious and so is the case with me. So day before when I was again checking my application status, it still reflected "please schedule an Interview". So immediately sent a mail an Interview Coordinator at Haas. And it really came as a surprise when she replied that they are still awaiting an Interview report from my Interviewer.
Well I was just wondering, with only 7 days left before the decisions are announced, do I stand to lose because of this?

Hi Everyone!

As Bernie has done, I must also apologize for not replying in a timely manner to your questions. We were not receiving notifications that new posts had been made. With that said, we are now back up and running, and after completing a final exam last night, I am ready to answer any and all questions that you have about Haas, upcoming deadlines, etc. :)

Below I've answered a couple of questions that have not yet been addressed, and have also included some additional information regarding the interview process. However, if there are questions that I've missed, please just repost your question, and I will respond.

Thanks!
Lauren

***************
Question: Are all of the interviews done on campus or can you meet locally with an alum?

Answer: In addition to on campus interviews, interviews are also conducted off campus with Haas alumni (depending on your location, and which stage of the process you are in). In your interview invitation, you should receive information specific to interview location options.
***************
Question: My interviewer has not yet submitted their interview feedback to the Admissions Committee, do I stand to lose because of this?

Answer: No. The Admissions Committee will make sure that they collect this feedback prior to the March 17 decision deadline.

Additional comments on interviews from Pete Johnson, from the MBA Admissions blog (https://berkeleymba.blogspot.com/)

There is no fixed percentage of applicants who are interviewed, and chances of admission for those who do interview are based on the strength of the entire application package and the interview. In the past few years, between 25% and 30% of all applicants have been selected to interview--but keep in mind that this percentage has varied each year. It's simply a reflection of the strength of the candidates in a specific round.

Although it's a positive sign to be invited to interview, it doesn't mean you'll get an offer--but it does mean that the Admissions Committee saw enough strengths in your application to be seriously considering your candidacy, so it's always a good sign!

If you are invited to interview, be sure to listen to the Interview tips podcast, which you can find at https://www.haas.berkeley.edu/haas/podca ... _tips1.mp3.

Question: I have applied to Rd 3 at Haas. I havent sent in my official score report yet. I can order one now or wait if I get invited to interview. When does Haas need this in the admissions process?

Answer: I would suggest that you submit your official GMAT score report as soon as possible (and before the Round 3 decision deadline). As I believe was mentioned, because this information can be sent electronically, it can be shared with the Haas Admissions Committee quickly.

Hi people!

Do you know if there are still Round 2 interview invites to be sent for international candidates?

Also, are all admitted candidates interviewed?

Thank you.
