Ding for me too. Really disappointed. I understand I'm not on the waitlist, but do you know of people who have submitted updates etc. to adcoms and been successful? I mean if they told me I needed a 740 GMAT to have another chance I'd start hitting the books now. Though I'm still waiting on a few other schools, Duke is by far my top choice. It just pains me one so-so interview can completely doom your chances at a school.

contestant1- How did you find out you had been dinged off the waitlist? Had you given them any updates?

This is my first waitlist. I've already devoured all of the old sticky topics regarding waitlists here at GMAT Club and I gather that an additional reco, an additional essay expressing my desire to attend Duke and retaking the GMAT are all common avenues for waitlisted applicants to take. My GMAT is just over 700...not amazing but not bad. Would there be any value in retaking to raise this closer to 750? My instincts say no, but then again I haven't gotten an acceptance anywhere. I don't know any Fuqua alumni or students. I was thinking of asking the mother of a kid that I coached to right another reco as a kind of character reference. I think I will write the quasi essay in the next week or two. Does anyone have experience with this at Duke or any other school? Feedback much appreciated.
