Anyone looking for housing yet? I ended up being awarded a 50% scholarship, so USC is my likely destination. I still have a Darden interview this Friday, so that might pan out - but if it doesn't, USC is almost for sure where I'm going.
hypermeganet, may i ask when and how did you get notified of the 50% scholarship?
i'm heading down to LA in June to look for housing. focusing on Culver City and maybe Brentwood.

Like a few days after my packet. I didn't think I received anything and then I got a follow up letter. It was very, very surprising!
Just got a call from Ashley Dyer letting me know I got in! R3 applicant. Has anyone from R3 received any news about scholarships or know when to expect this information?
Also, anyone have any insight on whether to go with USC or UCLA for an MBA focusing on entrepreneurship and tech management?
My stats are: 710 GMAT, 5.5 years work experience as a software engineer in high tech (intel and start up), and significant extracurricular. Also, not sure if it helped or hurt me but I did my undergrad at USC as well
hi, How well is torrance connected to USC in terms of public transportation? and roughly what would be the commute time like?

From what I can tell, not well. That goes for most of LA. They are building a light rail line that runs from Culver City past campus, but that won't start until 2011. You'll need a car, or a friend with a car.
thanks for the info..thats bad news for me then another Q: how much shud i budget for gas bills if i am driving from torrance to USC....say 22 days a month also is culver city enroute torrance - USC?

It's about ~20 miles to campus. That's 40 miles round trip per day @ 22 days = 880 miles per month. Say your car gets 20 miles per gallon, that's 44 gallons per month. Let's average $3.10/gallon. That's $136.40/month in gas.
