For anyone interested, I wrote to CBS regarding the April Admit weekend and received the following response: "At this time, we are not releasing the dates for our second Columbia Connect event, as we’re still working through the details. This second event will offer different programming from the first, so it would be great if you were able to attend both. We hope to see you on campus in February!"

Anyone know how long these Kroll checks are supposed to take?

For last year, it took anywhere from 3 weeks to 8 weeks.
My guess is that if Kroll didn't have problems contacting your company, recommender, and school, they should be able to send the report to adcom within 2 weeks or so, and Columbia can review it and send out the "verification successful" letter within a week.
But if either Kroll or Columbia can't verify any aspect of the application, the process can drag on for a long time. So in this case, the best way is to contact them within a reasonable time and see what info they still need.
This is all based on the posts I've read about Kroll on last year's BW Columbia forum, and I'm going through the process myself right now so i don't know for sure.
I got the "fax confirmation" email from Kroll one day after I initiated the process. So I'm waiting for Kroll to send me another email when their part is complete, and then hopefully another email from Adcom soon after that.
