This is true, but you must let them make that distinction if they want to

Thats good advice. I read somewhere that most B-Schools take into account that your Freshman year is not really representative of your academic abilities considering you show a positive progression throughout the rest of your college career.

It is true that some "recalculate" your GPA for admissions purposes (i.e upper-level classes only, remove "Bowling" (i actually took that)) but that is for them to decide. If you report your GPA as a 3.5 and your official transcript (which will be required) shows a 3.3, you will have some explaining to do...if you're fortunate enough to even get a chance to respond.

Is it possible to omit your freshman year in calculating your college undergrad GPA?

Is this accepted at the top B-schools and can it work against you in any way?

Comments appreciated.

Be honest about your grades. If your freshman year was no good, at least you showed improvement. I can tell you first hand, there are other factors that go into bschool admission besides gpa. There's no way that a school would accept someone they perceive as being dishonest though.
