I read often, post very rarely.
Received interview invite at 4:56PM CST.
Does anyone know roughly what percentage of 1st round interview invites end up getting accepted?

Yeah...no email about interview, waitlist or rejection...I doubt the Adcom is working over the weekend...I will call them the first thing Monday morning to understand what (if any) next steps can we follow.

Till rest, stay in peace and have a great weekend ya all.

Same here. Did Ross officially state that yesterday was the last day they'd send out invitation?

btw i'm an international applicant, hopefully the invitation is swimming over...

Yes, from Director of Admissions:

10/22/2010

Round 1 Update

Congratulations to all of you who submitted your application on our Round 1 deadline last week. You can have your evenings and weekends back; no more essays to polish up or recommenders to hound.

We received applications from candidates from over 40 countries and were pleased to see an increase in applications from every region of the world. At this point, it's hard to know where total applications will end up. Regardless of the volume, we're looking to build an incoming class of about 490 students.

In terms of process, we will be extending Round 1 interview invitations in two batches. The first group of invites will go out on Monday, October 25. Invited applicants will have three weeks to complete their interview. The second batch of invites will go out on November 12. The interviews are an opportunity to tell us more about yourself - your unique experiences, goals, interests, motivators - and for you to learn more about us.

For those of you applying in Round 2, I suppose many of your evenings and weekends have been blocked off for completing your applications. In case you weren't able to make it out to campus for an application workshop, there's another opportunity coming up at a Preview Day on Friday, November 12. I will be walking through how the Admissions Committee looks at an application and engage the group in a discussion of an essay or two. There's still time to register (and fall is a great time of year to visit Ann Arbor! The leaves outside my window are glorious shades of orange, yellow and red.)

If you are unable to join us for Preview Day, you may want to listen to a Forte webinar I moderated that features application advice from several admissions directors. We discussed such topics as how to "tell your story," how to showcase your leadership ability, and how to prepare for the interview.

Good luck to all of you, wherever you may be in the process! We look forward to getting to know you over the coming months.

After sitting through the entire day waiting for an invite, I still can't believe they sent your like 4 invites for atleast 30 of us..This seems ridiculous. From what I hear, Ross typically interviews about 30-35 pc of applicants. hmm.

Maybe they got more competitive this year and decided to invite much fewer candidates for the interview.

I have not understood this so far, mainly because I was asked additional materials which was submitted on November 9th. And there were quite a few people like me, all of their fates have been sealed?

Onw more thing, any Indian from India with an invite so far? Any news on whether all the interviews are actually out?

I was also asked to provide additional information. I checked Businessweek, and they list Ross as interviewing 61% of applicants. Hopefully there are some more invites out there.

There is something wrong for sure. Ross might wanna take fewer candidates in round 1 this year and take a lot from round 2, probably.

That doesn't make sense to me. Why would they want to do that?? Looks like Ross is turning out to be super-super-competitive among the Indian pool as I think pretty much every Indian applicant to b-schools applies to Ross. That's like close to 3000 applicants out of which there are probably 2000 high quality profiles. So, if the Ross class size is 500 and Indians typically make up 5pc of the class (25), what is the acceptance rate for Indian Students at Ross? 1:80 ??? WOW

bakfed said in his post at the top of this page that Ross seems to be getting more selective than Booth and Wharton. If Ross had a small class size that would have been understandable but looking at the number of invites that went out yesterday, I do think something is wrong. Well, bakfed is going to contact them Monday, so we'll know by then.

Yes, Hopefully. I'd die to know what's the scoop on this. I was just checking businessweek for Ross acceptance rate , interview calls and other numbers:
* Applications (admitted and denied) to the newest class: 2,722
* Applicants who were accepted to the most recent class: 25 %
* Admitted applicants who enrolled in the newest class: 71 %
* Applicants who were re-applicants from prior years: 6 %
* Percentage of this year's reapplicants accepted: 26 %
* Applicants wait-listed during the last admissions cycle: 432
* Wait-listed applicants admitted for the semester to which they applied: 93
* Applicant interviews are: By invitation only
* Applicants (admitted and denied) who were interviewed: 61 %
* Admitted applicants who were interviewed: 100 %

61% ?? really?

The strangest part (that gives me most hope) is the breakdown of the 19 invited candidates. If the breakdown was close to 50/50 between the two dates (10 and 9, let's say), then I would say, ok, I guess the pool on gmatclub.com just is on the lower end of the confidence interval. 19/64 = 30%, and maybe Ross is interviewing 40% of applicants.

But the fact that the breakdown is 14 (Oct 25) and 5 (Nov 12), and the fact that the invitations are supposed to be random and not merit-based, gives me confidence that more invitations will be given out later.

Either way -- I am extremely angry at Ross for not communicating anything to everyone. At least an email or blog about the situation. And if all invitations have been given out, they should email us that news just to put us to rest!

Guys...still have hopes

I just receive the mail

"This is to inform you that you have been invited to interview for the Ross School of Business. Due to a technical glitch in our online scheduling system, a small number of applicants did not receive the invitation, which contains a personal login to our scheduling system. We will be re-sending the invitation today. In the event that it doesn’t go through, we hope to have it resolved on Monday. In the meantime, we wanted to minimize your anxiety and let you know that you have been selected for an interview. Thank you for your patience."
