Yet another reapplicant who applied close to deadline* and hasn't heard anything. I interviewed last year, so I'm still a bit unsure if I must necessarily interview again in order to be admitted.

Anyways, I indicated a focus in Marketing so I got an email from the marketing club inviting me to their annual conference. It would require taking a day off work, but I would consider if I thought it might make a difference. Do you guys have any thoughts?

Thanks

*I submitted two days before but my reference letter took another full week

Received an interview invite. Submitted on 10/6 a few hours before the deadline.

Three quick questions for those who already went through this step. How long did you wait to hear back from the first three potential interviewers before emailing another set of three? How did you select which interviewer you would choose? What did you write to the interviewer you did not choose.

Congrats on the interview invite.

I heard back from the alum the next day (after I initiated contact) and he provided me with his cell phone number. We scheduled my interview for 3 days from the day we spoke. If you're in a city where CBS has a lot of alums you could review a couple of Linked-in profiles (maybe find someone in the same industry).

I did not think that it would help much, so I did not do anything of the kind. Given that its a rolling process, I would advice you go with the first alum who responds. They are all going to ask you the same questions, and over-analyzing their profiles may be a waste of time. Just be yourself, know your goals, and show that you not only love CBS and New York, but also the idea of being an life-long member of Columbia.

Good luck bud, go kill it!

Thanks co2012! Any suggestions on interview prep?

I guess there are still quite a few people (including myself) who submitted their application at some point after September 27/28, and haven't received any feedback yet. Throughout the last few weeks, I have always told myself that this is "the week" but I think we should really hear back this or next week at the latest, given that some people who submitted their application on October 7 have received an invitation already. Any opinions?

trying not to think about it, even though its all i can think about!

I submitted around the same time as you, although my app didnt go complete until Oct 6th due to a recommender.

in anycase, no response is still "good news", if you can think of it that way, its still not a ding!

How does this work
Scenario A)
App submitted on 10/6 - Recs turned in on 10/11- App under review 10/16
Scenario B)
App submitted on 10/6 - Under review on 10/7

I am pretty sure on 10/16, ADCOM wasn't reading applications turned in on 10/6. They were probably back logged and still in Sept. So my point is by the time they come to 10/6, both scenario A and B are equally good to be read.
I also know that they adjust the " App under review" Status 1x-2x/week.

Hi All: I am new to this...so help me understand - which spread sheet r u guys talking abt....cant see one.

Anyways - I applied R1 ED on 5/10...App was complete on 7/10. It went 'on review' on 19/10 (they must have had a huge work load). But since then no movement at all. I am beginning to get very worried now. It seems a lot of ppl have already been interviewed. Not that I had huge hopes frm CBS....but nevertheless. Anyone else in the same situation??

PS - Can someone help me with their target closing date for ED....thanks a ton!

Another day of checking my email every five minutes...

Turned in ED app 10/6, int. invite 10/15, int. 10/25, int. complete 10/29. From the spreadsheet, looks like I could hear back now or in the next 39 days.

Found the forum to commiserate with others slowly going crazy watching their phone/email!

Can the author of the google table in the first page open the access up to everyone so people can just update their own status on their own? Because it seems like the table is a bit outdated.

how much greater of a chance do female applicants have bionic45? Does it matter that much? I'm new to this process so I'm sorry if that question is strange

Anybody else notice that 10 of 12 admit calls were either Monday or Friday? Possibly adcom reviews applications mon-thurs, makes the admit decisions then makes the calls friday/monday? Yes, I am probably reading too much into this...but it's kinda fun. Hoping those of us waiting get the call tomorrow...
