Same.. Applied on ED deadline. No news.

No news = bad news?

I think they are flooded with applications for ED. Should take awhile to get back?

Reapplicants..traditionally have they taken longer if you applied close to/on deadlines?

I was looking at past thread (09,10) and it looks like people who have applied during 1st week of Oct have heard before 11/10 ( of course w some exceptions)
I think this week will be crucial for those who have applied between 10/1-10/6

I have not given up hope yet as Columbia ED is my first choice, but given the circumstances I am going to begin working on my Round 2 apps to other MBAs.........

Are there any International Students applying to Columbia that are not from India or Asia?

Have not seen anyone from Mexico besides myself.......

I know that I am probably torturing myself more so than I should by reading this forum so often, but the people that have already been dinged applied to ED on what dates? Has CBS started to ding people that applied right on the deadline???? Checking my email 7 times a day waiting for news and logging on to this forum 3 times a day cant be good for me... oh well......

Guess Columbia needs to pick certain week days to release interview invitations so we don't need to wait every day....

For essay question 1 "What are your short-term and long-term professional goals? How will Columbia Business School help you achieve these goals? (Maximum of 750 words)". I know we're supposed to talk about "how our experience so far leads to such future goals. But how much of the essay should be dedicated to the past experience? I allocated about 1/3 of the essay to this. And 1/3 to ST/LT goals, and 1/3 to why CBS. Reasonable?

Hey VG2511,

Indeed, it has been very quiety. On the other side, unfortunately we do not have many J-term applicants registered in this forum. I am assuming that if we do not hear anything by the end of the month, that is it.

By the way, could you please share your profile with us?

I was wondering if any brave applicant would have the courage to phone admissions and ask about their target date on responding the J-term applicants. I don't want to do this because I don't want to run the risk of being identified (there are not many applicants from my country), but I guess everyone feels the same about this (area code, etc).

Question,
How long will it take before you hear back from CBS of their decision? I have my interview next week.

Received an interview invite. Submitted on 10/6 a few hours before the deadline.

Three quick questions for those who already went through this step. How long did you wait to hear back from the first three potential interviewers before emailing another set of three? How did you select which interviewer you would choose? What did you write to the interviewer you did not choose.

Depends very specifically on your past experience. If you have been a member of the senate, devote 80% of your essay talking about it!

Its normally a good idea to devote at least half the essay to experience and divide the remaining into two halves. I doubt admissions wants to read too much about why anyone wants to be at CBS..its usually quite obvious if you are interested in Finance.
