Just got the ding as well... Interview went complete January 25. 730 GMAT, 3.45 GPA in Computer Science from Top Public, 5.5 years experience in consulting.

I'm just curious, does anyone have an idea of what % of the class is filled already?

I asked the same question at the Admissions Q&A during the Women in Business event. They didn't answer. I got the impression that it wasn't information they were willing to share.

Based on the low number of admits we have been seeing recently, I bet the class is getting pretty full. I was warned that it is very difficult to get in to Columbia for RD round.

I've heard something like 70% of the class is filled from ED. This could totally be false information, but its a rumour i've heard more than once.

Yeah, it definitely doesn't seem like it has to do with age. My friend turned 29 late last year and was accepted to CBS last month. They must think the regular MBA program won't be challenging enough for you (due to your industry or your amazing experience/credentials) and that's why they suggested EMBA.

sorry for the repost..getting nervous!

I submitted on 12/23 and went under review on 1/7 and haven't heard anything since. I see that people who have applied after me (in Dec and Jan) have both gotten dinged and called for an interview. Is this normal?

How should I interpret this delay in response?

I heard from AdCom that each application gets read by several people. My guess is that all of us that went under review before mid-January have been evaluated by two people, and as a result of that some interviews and dings got sent. Most of us are probably somewhere in between, and getting read by the third person and/or being discussed in committee meetings. The AdCom member I spoke too insisted that interview invites can come at any time during the 8-12 week review period (though I think most of them probably come within the first 8 weeks, not the last 4). As long as you don't get a ding, you're still in...
