Hi all,
Primenumber and I were were wondering if the folks from the New York area would like to meet for a Consortium Happy Hour.... I'm sure I'm not the only one that could use a drink, either to celebrate or decompress. C'mon let's put some faces with some screennames! Let us know if you're interested in meeting up!
Duh?! LOL

Awesome, so we have three. Anyone else in for a NY Consortium happy hour?
Awesome, we have 5 -- VLM, Money, Prime, Kn2130, and realname.
so, when's good for everyone? How about Wednesday, the 16th? I know it's random, but I think that's the date the Consortium letters go out, so it would be like symbolic. haha... If mid-week doesn't work, of course, let's try another date.

Are we really going to convince ourselves that a top 30 school is as good as a top5 or 10 school? I think a top 30 school is great and I applied to Emory which is ranked right outside of the top 20. While starting salaries may be comparable the opportunities that comes with a H/W/S/Booth MBA is sizeably better. Walking away with 160k bill from Harvard doesnt mean anything in 20 years when you have made more than 1 mil more than a school not in the top 15 or 20. #justbeingreal

Good question. Is a T20 that different from a T3 or T5? I keep hearing the Harvard millionaire argument but you have to wonder, is this causation or correlation? Does Harvard teach something radically different or provide access to a alumni who somehow lead people to become millionaires or highly successful, or is it just that schools like H/S/W have a higher concentration of people who would be highly successful, regardless of where they had chosen to attend?
For example, both HBS and Darden teach extensively using the case method. So if you took someone who got into HBS and sent them to Darden, wouldn't they go just as far in life having gone to UVA as they would going to HBS? Would HBS really be worth an additional $50 000? $100 000? $160 000?
