At last I got an email from Booth - ding as I expected. I wish good luck to all those invited to interview. Moving on to the next target

Dear XXX,

Thank you for applying to Chicago Booth's Full-Time MBA Program. Your application has received the careful consideration of our Admissions Committee. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer you admission to the Class of 2013.

The superb quality of this year's applicant pool presented the Admissions Committee with some difficult decisions. Three members of the Committee reviewed your application in its entirety before our decision was made. Applicants are evaluated on several criteria, including academic preparedness, professional achievements, communication skills, extracurricular/community involvement, leadership, self-awareness, understanding the value of the MBA experience, and fit with Chicago Booth.

We certainly appreciate the effort you put into this process, and we wish you every success as you continue to plan for your future.

Sincerely,

Kurt Ahlm
Senior Director of Admissions

Ding here, although expected it after the Wharton ding. There seems to be a correlation between the two schools! Good luck to those interviewing!

Yeah this is really disappointing for me considering how people I interact with think of me as the type of person to be accepted to this kind of program.

It was my first application and I'm generally not very good at expressing myself in essays. I've done a much better job at preparing my other applications so hopefully deny is not a common word for me.

Edit: At this point I'm mostly I'm upset I wasted my money on Chicago (visiting and the application). But I'm sure I'll find that this was a learning experience in the end :)

Don't get too down guys! I went 0 for 3 in all my apps last season, and I know how it feels. A lot of this process seems to be luck, especially considering the profiles of everyone on here. The only bright side is that at least this isn't Round 3, you all have the opportunity to really focus on Round 2 applications going forward (I know I will be as well, December 15th is a long way off).
