Hi Pranilk,
Thank you for your post. You have a good background and I would be happy to provide an overview of your profile.
Regarding your stats (GMAT/GPA), they are solid, although if you are seeking a top school, it would be helpful if you were able to increase your GMAT score, because these schools are so competitive. You can certainly take it 3 times, and since schools only look at your highest score, you have nothing to lose.
It is impressive that you have completed the CFA and FRM, as that demonstrates your additional quantitative ability.
In terms of your out-of-work involvement, it sounds like you have done a good job within your community. If you have not already, strive to take on a leadership role or two, so that you can demonstrate that you have taken initiative and made a difference.
Without seeing your resume, I can’t tell the specifics of your work experience, but it looks like you have been progressing in your career, so that is great. The average years of work experience for MBA programs is about 5 years, so in 2 years, you will be right there.
Attending an MBA program is a tremendous experience, and you are right to consider it as a valuable option in your future. I will say though that there are fewer on-campus recruiting opportunities to land a buy-side job. Many graduates do go into financial services post-MBA, although there are not as many buy-side opportunities as there are on the sell-side.
