Hi everyone,
Want a serious suggestion on how to proceed thru my career. i am 33, M, Indian Sales Professional in an MNC in India. i am presently in the middle management position and want a transition in my career to Finance.
What are the options available before me please suggest. I have a 9yr work ex rising thru the sales role after my MBA from Symbiosis Pune and want to pursue an MBA/EMBA from the top colleges in US/Europe.
i had last given the GMAT in 2012 and scored a 620 without much prep. i have been a good student all academics and the 620 was an aberration without much preparation.
Please suggest me the way forward i am preparing to take the GMAT again this Q4 and apply for colleges next year.
It’s hard to give very detailed advice without knowing more about you, but based on what you wrote, an MBA could very well be what you need, as fulltime MBAs do enable graduates to career switch. My recommendation would be to retake the GMAT, though, as you said you got your current score without much effort, so it seems like there is a lot of room for improvement there. And the higher the score, the more options you will have school wise, so that’s really a very important part!
You should also research the schools that might be relevant for you, as you are interested in the finance field I’d recommend starting with checking the rankings for business schools that offer specializations in finance, see one such list with rankings here, for example:
