you need to put all triangles rules together.
So Angle ADB=180-2x
ABD+ADB+BAD=180
ABD+180-2x+x=180
therefore ABD=x
ABD=BAD=x
i.e AD=BD=6
Now BDC=BCD -> BD=BC
i.e BC=6

I forgot to mention. As you see from my explanation that you really dont need the value of x. For triangle there is no correlation between value of an angle to the length of the side. The only correlation is that you can figure out if two sides are equal or double but you can never figure out the length from angle or vice versa. Such equation does not exist.
Whenever you see triangle problem you just need to put
x+y+z=180 or pythagoram theorum. You can solve mos tproblems with it.
