I am having trouble with these types of questions. I could not find a method in any of my GMAT material, and Manhattan GMAT's guide said these types of problems are not solvable? Here is an example
What is the value of n if n(root3)= 4(Root75)+5(Root48)
A. 20(root3)
B. 10
C. 40
D. 20
E. None of the above
Ok doing it long ways,
Simpifying the right side I get Sqrt (75*16)+Sqrt (25*48)
Combining numbers on that side, that equals Sqrt2400
I was told the answer to the question is 40. However, if if Square 40 and multiply it by the number inside of the root sign, I get sqrt4800?
I am confused
Anyone have any links which can help?
Thanks
Jim
