I am an engineering student trying to prepare for gmat. I started of a bit over 3 weeks, and have been focusing on verbal section only. I went through mgmat verbal books and then went on to do OG16.
I haven't really given any CAT since I haven't really gotten a lot of time to sit in one stretch for long enough, also, I haven't touched quant section.
I did the OG verbal by timing myself within limits.
For SC, my accuracy has been 70% on an average. For CR, for the first 80% of the questions my average was 80-90%, but it has dropped to 65-75% in the remaining 20% questions in the end. For RC, it's been a constant 85% from beginning till end, varying from RC to RC.
I am trying to bring up my score on SC, and it seems to be slowly, yet steadily picking up.
P.S I did the whole OG by timing each question. CR average 105 sec, SC average 85 sec.
How should I be judging my score? Also, I seem to have hit a kind of a dead-end on CR especially, I am looking to further on improve on it. Any tips?

Accuracy, without taking the difficulty level in account, can be a flawed measure on the GMAT. Measure your ability to evaluate where you stand. I recommend you to look at our Scholaranium platform (you get 6 ability quizzes free of charge). Also attend our free Webinar on Sentence Correction this weekend. Register herefor the same.
Scholaranium is one of the most advanced quizzing platform available today that helps you keep a track of your performance and measure your ability (screenshot below). Visit here to understand more about this tool: https://e-gmat.com/blogs/ability-quizze ... -manual-2/.
Here is what some of the students have said about the platform
• An Absolutely brilliant and innovative tool from e-GMAT that is a must have for every serious GMAT aspirant…I am thoroughly enjoying this tool. Also the interface provides a really easy way to take notes of concepts tested in a question and also an easy way to bookmark questions that we would like to revisit… • I am really impressed with the feature of Scholaranium to show the weak area in skill data. It is helping me to identify which files I should go back to improve my basic concept and strengthen that area. • The platform provided an accurate account of the ability in particular section such as SC, CR etc. It would be great if Takt time & total productive time can also be evaluated in the system.
Scholaranium as a GAME-Changer
Scholaranium has been considered a GAME-Changer. There are over 10 pages of mentions on GMAT Club. Click here for more details: https://goo.gl/mJqj5X. This is quite an achievement, considering that Scholaranium is merely a 11 month old tool.
All the Scholaranium questions are 100% e-GMAT questions that test the same skills as tested by the GMAT. They are one of the best things that you can get after GMAT Prep.
We have put upwards of 6000 hours on creating and perfecting Scholaranium. There is a lot of effort put in to ensure that you get good realistic results. It is because of tools such as Scholaranium that we have leapfrogged pin terms of number of reviews and number of success stories in 2015.
Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other queries.

Hi! Since you mention SC as one of the concern areas, thought I will mention that our sentence correction book Sentence Correction Nirvana is perhaps the only book that offers a score improvement guarantee, and is especially designed for non-native speakers.
After reading the book twice (yes! it's an academic book, and so must be read twice in all seriousness, to reinforce the concepts), you will start looking forward to solving SC questions!
The book is available on Flipkart and Amazon.in. You might want to refer to these sites, to also read testimonials of how readers have benefited.
If you want to sample a chapter before deciding to go ahead with our book, please PM me your mail-id (along with the chapter that you would like to sample) and I will be happy to send that chapter to you by mail. In addition, the entire Grammar section of the book is also available for free preview at pothi.

When do you plan to take the GMAT? I don't think it's a good idea to exclude one section entirely. If you are good at (and even enjoy!) quant, you could consider starting off. At a minimum, it'll help you break the monotony of doing only one section

Your RC looks fine. Next step: a full length test. CR: the questions in the OG tend to get tougher as you progress. It'd be great if we could carry the 80-90% accuracy into the tougher questions as well, but I wouldn't worry too much. This looks good given that you've been studying for only 3 weeks. The amount of effort you need to put in from here on will depend on your target score. SC: did the accuracy drop off or has it remained constant? If it has remained constant, you might need to spend more time working on your concepts.
P.S I did the whole OG by timing each question. CR average 105 sec, SC average 85 sec.

You seem to be on target. Just take a quick look to see whether you can see any variation with difficulty (for example, some people get through the initial questions pretty quickly and that brings the average time down, which could be misleading).

A GMATPrep would give you the most accurate estimate of your current ability. If you want a soft start, take the diagnostic test included in the OG. Take it untimed. Don't analyze the GMATPrep questions if you want to use the GMATPreps again in the future (you almost certainly will want to).
