What are the strengths of the program at Tuck?

Tuck is very well respected by recruiters, some recruiters treat it as an ultra-elite. They have a very collaborative approach, and they're a very close-knit community as far as b-schools go. They do very well placing people in consulting.

Also, they're in the middle of nowhere New Hampshire which is good if you enjoy the outdoors and skiing/snowboarding.

What I've heard / learnt about Tuck:

1) They are perceived as one of the top Elites (meaning they are perceived as closer to Ultra Elites than many other schools in the cluster).

2) Their strength seems to be in general management, and they place people particularly well in consulting.

Personally I would think one of Tuck's biggest strengths is its alumni and close knit student body. A lot of schools boast strong alumni support but Tuck being a small school in the woods seems to create graduates who are very devoted to the school. Probably has a lot to do with the fact that the social activities outside of those with people at the school are vastly limitted compared to a big school in an urban setting. They talk about the Tuck community where places like Columbia talk about the New York City community as a whole.

Having gone to a very small specialized undergrad program that was fairly isolated compared to most schools, I can tell you that it really does create tight bonds with your classmates, I knew everyone in my class and though people had their close knit groups we all got along and I could go out with just about anyone in my class and have a good time.
