I was admitted to Tuck yesterday with no scholarship and Kenan Flagler a few weeks ago with 75% scholarship. I am looking to transition from healthcare into consulting and would like to try for a MBB position. Any thoughts? Worth it to take on debt for Tuck?

It is a tough decision. MBB is hard to break into. Not sure if you’re domestic or international but chances for international applicants are even worse.
I think it’d really depend depends on how foolish you feel about yourself. Tuck is an absolute machine when it comes to consulting and the consulting club is awesome... but that does not guarantee you’ll get in. Quite a few folks don’t each year. It is a risk. 😬
UNC has M.B.B. coming on campus as well so it’s not quite as bad as going to Owen or Jones but there is a palpable difference.
When I was younger, I was foolish so I would’ve probably gone to tack no matter the cost. Now I probably would choose UNC because you never know what happens.

Tuck’s strong MBB placement, tight-knit alumni network, and well-regarded brand in consulting make it a top choice, but the lack of scholarship means a significant financial burden. Kenan-Flagler, with 75% scholarship, offers solid consulting placements, though not as strong as Tuck’s. If MBB is the goal, Tuck gives you better odds, but weigh the ROI carefully. If you’re comfortable with debt and confident in securing a top consulting role, Tuck is worth it. Otherwise, Kenan-Flagler provides a lower-risk path with good consulting opportunities. Consider speaking to alumni at both schools for insight into consulting placement outcomes.
