At a certain state university last term, there were p students each of whom paid either the full tuition of x dollars or half the full tuition. What percent of the tuition paid by the p students last term was tuition from students who paid the full tuition?

(1) Of the p students, 20 percent paid the full tuition.
(2) The p students paid a total of $91.2 million for tuition last term.

1. If 20% of the p students paid the full tuition, the remaining 80% of the
students paid half the full tuition. The total tuition collected by the certain
state university is 20% + 40% or 60% of the tuition. \(\frac{20}{60} * 100\) or \(33.3\) percent
of the tuition was paid by students who paid the full tuition (Sufficient)

2. Without knowing how many students paid full tuition and how many paid
half of the full tuition, and knowing the total amount collected, we can't give
a percentage for the tuition paid by students(who paid the full tuition) (Insufficient) (Option A)

If you explain another way that will be easier.
20 % full paid, lets say each paid n dollars
20xn
Then 80 % is n/2 >> 80xn/2 =40n
Total=20n+40n=60n
(20n)/(60n)x 100 which is 33.3 %
Hope you got it
