Have any engineers here been successful in getting tuition assistance from their company for a part time MBA? While I can see companies paying sales people and such to pursue MBA's, I'm not sure how willing they would be for engineers. I guess it's up to your manager to approve but I just wanted to know if this is a common occurrence or if it just doesn't happen. If any of you have had any experience with this I would love to hear it. Thanks!
It depends on where you work and what industry. Here in the LA area, most of the aerospace companies will pay for you to get your MBA part-time. A lot of people from Boeing, Northrop, Lockheed and Raytheon go fully funded and it's pretty standard if you are interested in becoming a manager later.
I have seen companies pay some tuition costs for engineers. I have seen an engineering company pay $7,500 per year for part-time MBA employees, it is not much but it is better than nothing.
