I always found out about my interviewer as early as possible in the interview. Know your audience is the first rule of communication. Besides, people also like to be asked about themselves - it's flattering. And once you start asking them questions ("how was your experience with the consulting club?") you need to know about them to understand how their experience might relate to theirs.

yeah, LinkedIn is a great site for this. I found out quite a bit about my UCLA interviewer's background, jobs, and even papers he wrote while at UCLA. Definitely helps me know what he's passionate about and what questions he may ask outside of the "script".

LOL, UCLA will give you an interview invite (and a final admit), I can see it, Avi! :)

Nah, I like to be prepared (as you, River, and others may tease me about my recommendation package) for things. Maybe I'll use that as a "weakness" if they ask me what my weakness is (being overprepared sometimes).

My interviewer changed the interview to the afternoon, so I'll have a little more time to study the stuff tonight.
