OG; I bought also the
powerscore CR bible and downloaded some Manhattan old version for SC. I feel really disappointed. My goal is to get a score at least above 650, 700 will be a blessing. Feel free to share any advice.
Hi glrosano23,
It seems like you are struggling to get your prep right. I understand that preparing for GMAT in the right way has its own challenges. But, trust me, once you understand the right way to go about it and get the proper guidance, it becomes really easy. Let me help you here.
The 460-640 range indicates that you are having a few conceptual gaps in certain topics and at the same time you are majorly struggling with the application of concepts, which is the main thing that is tested on GMAT. So, your focus while preparing has to be
- to learn the concepts of the topics first,
- then learn the right methodology to solve questions of that topic
Only once you are done with the above two steps, you can dive into practicing questions of that topic. Once you learn the right methodology, the process of solving would be the same for all the questions regardless of the difficulty level.
How to choose the right course?
Always choose a course which can help you with the application part along with the concepts. Because, the better your application skills are, the better your performance is going to be.
And one important aspect in the process of working on your weak areas is analyzing solutions. You need to analyze the solutions in depth to understand the exact step at which you are making the mistake. This is one of the most effective ways to learn the right methodology and to nullify your gaps. So, choose the course which can provide you with standard questions and their detailed solutions. All in all, make sure the course you choose provides you with the below factors.
- Concepts
- Methodology (Most important)
- Standard questions
- Their detailed solutions
- Study plan (Makes the process more structured)
The best thing to do would be to check out the free trials of the online courses out there and choose the one which suits you the most.
