Twenty years from now, the basketball team will not be remembered for losing every game this season just as they will not remember the football team for winning the state championship.

(A) just as they will not remember the football team
(B) any more than they will remember the football team
(C) any more than the football team will be remembered
(D) no more than they will remember the football team
(E) as will the football team not be remembered

In A,B,D --> no antecedent for pronoun "they"

E looks good. we are comparing two clauses "as' is appropriate here.

I am leaning towards C.

We expect people to remember when a team wins a champion ship or loses every game of the season.

the basketball team will not be remembered for losing every game

is parallel with

the football team will be remembered for wining SC

E some how reads awkward to me and also does not say the opposite of remembering the foot ball team for winning SC

What is the OA? B T W What is Zumit before every post subject? Some sort of indexing for searching your own questions again?

I agree with C.

I had it down to C and E (remembered) and went with C

The OA is C. In the sentence as it is written, the pronoun they is ambiguous. It is not clear to whom they refers. The same holds true for answer choices B and D, which should be eliminated. C is correct because the intention of the sentence is to compare the basketball team with the football team. E is somewhat awkward.

IMO C)

Twenty years from now, BB team will not be remembered any more than the football team
