Two cars start towards each other from points 200 km apart. one car travels at 40 km and other travels at 35 km per hour. Hoe far will the cars be after 4 hours of continuous travelling ?

A)100 Km
B) 75 Km
C)40 Km
D)20 Km
E)160 Km
Solution:

After four hours, one car travels 40 x 4 = 160 km, and the other car travels 35 x 4 = 140 km. Therefore, the two cars are 160 + 140 - 200 = 100 km apart.

The cars will meet in 200/(40 + 35) hours. So, they will continue moving in opposite directions for 4 - 200/(40 + 35) hours, and in that time, they would cover (4 - 200/(40 + 35)) * (40 + 35) = 100 kilometers.
