I have taken GMAT in a test centre and I want to retake it but in online format. Since these are two consecutive exams in different format the requirement regarding 16-days-gap is not supposed to be applied. However, for some reason the system does not allow me to schedule the next appointment within the next 16 days even in Online delivered format.
I've contacted the support about this issue, the reply was: "The 16-day policy (waiting period) applies when you attempt two exams of the same format or if you attempt a Test Center exam first and then book an Online Exam." - I haven't found information about this specific detail anywhere. Moreover, the majority of sources claim that you can take in-person GMAT and then online (or vise versa) with no waiting period between them.
Could you please help me to find out if there is actually such a rule which the help centre told be about?

Interesting. Had a retake student for example who went from a 700 to a 760 in about 10 days, the 760 being an Online attempt. Even if the student cancelled the 700 score, that attempt would still count. Perhaps this is a recent change?
The MBA website still mentions:
"First, there is a 16-day waiting period between exams of the same format (both in a testing center or both online). If you switch formats—for example, first take it in a testing center and then switch to the GMAT Online—there isn’t a waiting period."
