Hello everyone out there;
I am in a dilemma.I am planning to take up a job with a startup part-time because I haven't had a promotion in 5.5 years and need some extra cash badly.Also I feel I have reached a plateau with regards to my skills.Although am managing a team of 4 and should have gotten my third promotion as a lead.Am still at a entry level position.So I have decided to work part-time with a startup to acquire more skills.I am from India.And working for another job is not allowed in my firm or allowed only after few levels of approvals which never happens.Also;I want that startup experience for my MBA applications in sometime future;what I want to know is how can I put it on my linked in profile or resumes?Also will this be viewed by adcom's in a negative light?Any advice on how to rectify my situation and gain a edge on my MBA admissions application.
It sounds like the startup experience will help to improve your profile, so just add it to your resume and B school application. The application is the most important thing, and while your LinkedIn should support it, it is not the end of the world if it does not. Good luck!
Best,
Scott
