In the exercise#19 (Complete the Tag Questions): Qn#6 : We’ve already taken that test, ______________________? Qn#10: You have been to Washington D.C., ______________________?
the answers given are: 6. We’ve already taken that test, __haven’t we__? 10. You have been to Washington D.C., __haven’t you__?
my response was "don't we?" and "Don't you?" respectively.
Can anyone please tell me whether there is an exception to the explanation given in the book?
thanks!

We always use the same helping verb while forming question which was used in the main sentence....
eg....We have already taken the test...Now we have to use "have" while forming question as this was used in the main sentence....we cannot say Don't we? we can only say - Haven't we? We can say Don't we if the sentence were like this -
We take the test...don't we?
Some other examples are as follows -
we took the test....didn't we? You have been to Washington D.C....Haven't you? You go to Washington D.C...don't you?
I hope it helps
