Set the tunnel length as T, the trains as length L1 and L2. Multiplying 20 m/s * 10s gives us T + L1, likewise 35 m/s * 12s gives us T + L2. Then we just need to subtract the smaller result from the bigger result to get |L1 - L2|.
20 * 10 = 200, 35 * 12 = 420.
420 - 200 = 220.
