At 11:00, Ryan drove 100 miles (2 x 50)
At 5:30, Ryan drove

6.5 x 50 + 100
425

At 5:30 Grace drove
70 x 6.5
455
=425 + 455 = 880

Therefore, Ryan and Grace drove 880 miles apart at 5:30 p.m.

Distance traveled by Ryan will be 8.5*50 = 425 miles
Distance traveled by Grace will be 6.5*70 = 455 miles

Total distance between the 2 trucks will be 425 + 455 = 880 miles...

Answer must be (C) 880 miles.
