hi all
am new in this forum, ...
my academic and grad is from india with ok scores, and i have 4 years work experience in sales, since last 1 year am in london on work visa which will be finished by september 2007, now i have decided to prepare for GMAT, my confusion is should i study here in london? if yes then what are the best options available other than self study, i mean tutor like kaplan,manhattan review,princeton,veritas...i have checked their website and realised they are pretty expensive , but is it worth taking education from them instead of reffering to official books for GMAT preparation. Also suggest me the best book which can referesh my dead skills in quant with all the formulas and problem solving techniques., and some refersher in english grammar correction also, how much time should i give if i want 700+.

I don't know about classroom courses in London, but you could do an online course from pretty much anywhere. I am doing Princeton Review's online course and would recommend it.
I would recommend getting the official math workbook to refresh your quant skills. I don't think it covers strategy, so be sure to get an overall review book as well (I also have PR's Cracking the GMAT and it's great on strategy). The official guides are awesome for practice but don't cover strategy.
For a grammar refresher, get a book called Grammar Smart. It covers key grammar rules that you can practice with the official guide and other materials.

hey mandy, i would suggest some studying either in a classroom or with a tutor. when i first started studying i thought i could save money and just dive into some books and that would be fine, but after one bombed test i decided that a class would be a good investment. i ended up going with manhattan review and was very pleased with their course. it helped me boost my score significantly and now i'm in a good position to apply to the top tier schools. i've heard good things about princeton review as well and some bad things about kaplan and manhattan gmat. good luck!
