Hi
My two cents:
US vs Canada:
US is a better market for tech. It has better pay and more opportunities than Canada. Also, Sauder is in Vancouver, whereas the tech market in Canada is more saturated in Toronto. Therefore, you will need to compete with Rotman, McGill and other bschools to find a job. Sauder is more focussed on finance, PM and tech to some extent. My opinion would be to choose US in this case.
Brand value:
Not much of a difference after MBA. My suggestion would be to decide where you see yourself in next 5-6 years geographically. If you plan to settle in the US, then dont think of Canada. Unless its Ivey league, the brand pays you locally. Rankings are just a way for relative comparison but not the ultimate marker. For ex: Best school of Spain might be nothing for the US market.
Placements:
You might wanna check the latest placements reports of both the schools. See if your target companies are in the list. More tech companies is what you are looking for. I will also recommend to connect with recent grads from both schools to get more clarity on what kind of roles have been offered. For UBC I can tell that there are roles in strategy but not much in tech. Please find the same about Carey.
I hope this helps to make a decision. Congratulations on the offers. Let me know if I can be of more help.
Thank you
