Nice! ,I am also interested in Msc.Finance/Financial Engineering.Generally this program doesn’t need enough work experience. Some schools don’t even require it at all but will be a plus on your cv
Saw this on the UCD website
“Candidates may be asked to sit the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) subject to individual application.”
So reach the adcom and find out wether given your gpa and work experience you still have to take the test.

CGPA - 7.2/10
I am also pursuing CMA (previously known as ICWA) - not sure whether to include this in my CV or not as I haven't finished it yet. I am currently working remotely in a US firm as an accountant and plan to take GMAT and IELTS at the end of this year.
I want to start applying in January.

How hard is it to get admission into UCD for MSc Finance?

I am a Bcom graduate with less than 1 year of work experience. Will online courses help boost my CV?

Hey Swarna6387,

UCD is one of the best schools in Ireland, plus Ireland is one of the most immigrant-friendly countries of Europe - That makes it a pretty good choice for a Masters program, especially if you happen to be an international applicant.

Coming to the work ex part, while MSc in Finance is branded as a pre-experience degree most schools prefer applicants to have some amount of work ex. As you have been working remotely, do some brainstorming to highlight how this experience has propelled you to take up a full-time program in Finance. Since working virtually also requires a lot of self-discipline, you can also highlight the soft skills developed through this experience ( Essays will play a key role in highlighting this). Also, I would suggest you take up at least one full-time internship before the application, would help justify your goals.
Very honestly, online courses add very marginal value to your application - since every second applicant has taken up a MOOC.
CFA, on the other hand, is highly valued by MFin Schools so if you are looking at courses, I would suggest looking into CFA.

UCD does not need a GMAT score for its MFin program, so the whole focus is here on the application.
You can check out this resource to learn how you can create a competitive MFin application: https://www.mim-essay.com/blog/masters-in-finance/

Good luck!
