me too. I couldnt be patient - so I emailed adcom. I got a standard reply "...interviews will come out until the decision date...". 2010 thread shows Dec 7 as the last R1 interview. With 20% more apps, I expect may be one more week to finish review... random words of comfort

got a confirmation email today saying they received my app. it also says in the email that interview invites will go out mid-dec:

Quote:

We anticipate sending the bulk of our interview invitations by mid-December. If you are selected for an interview you will receive an email from our office with details. Remember that interviewing on- or off-campus carries the same weight in the admissions process.

I just realized that I never received this email. I received confirmation that my application had been successfully submitted as soon as I sent it in, but I never received anything that mentioned interview invitations. What does this mean?

Had my interview this past weekend traveling from the East Coast, and I must say that I was extremely impressed with Anderson. I spoke with some prospective students in the waiting room, and thought I could have a beer with any one of them. I met with a second year student and my interview went something like this:

-Walk me through your resume.
-Why an MBA and why now?
-Why Anderson?
-What kind of leadership opportunities will you take advantage of at Anderson?

That was it! He wanted to keep it to 20 minutes, and then I asked him questions for the next 20 minutes, which was extremely valuable. It was very conversational and very comfortable. He wasn't asking any pointed questions, and was genuinely interested in my story. Overall, I think it went well, and my overall impression of Anderson has changed dramatically (not to mention Westwood / Santa Monica area is gorgeous). Feel free to pm if you want any more details. Hey I had my interview last weekend too. Pretty much what the last poster said was 100% true. I talked with a bunch of almunus before the interview and found them to be incredibly down to earth and friendly. My interviewer was not as personable as the other alumnus on campus, but I felt that I performed well. WE will find out soon. Anyone can PM with specific questions.

My interviewer did ask me about how my international experiences shaped me. Got the same question from Kellogg, but felt that my answer was fairly weak. Good luck to everyone applying!!

I also interviewed on Saturday and had a similar experience. Everyone seemed really nice, laid back (I bet we were probably all in the same waiting room/group...). The interview itself was easy enough - I got asked pretty much the same questions as these last two posters. My interviewer was a recent alum (class of 2011).

Honestly I don't think almost anyone outside of the US and maybe Canada has interviewed for UCLA. Just calm down. Be positive.

Thank you, Mr.Potter. It would have been nice to receive an update email from Admissions, especially since the original one specifically stated mid-December.

They're probably taking stock of the increased interest this year, now that they are not making applicants do those videos/sound recordings!

I think that is one of the main reasons for increased volume of apps. I know personally that doing a video was a major roadblock. Novel idea, but puts people who don't have good equipment and editing skills at a major disadvantage.

yes when I talked to admissions during my interview, they said they would be releasing a batch of decisions before the holidays (only positives) and then the rest of the acceptances and the rejections would come on the january date.

Finding out positive news before the holidays would be amazing! For people that have interviewed... has that been reflected in your application status? Mine still says...

"We reviewed your application with interest and would like to learn more with a personal interview. Please watch your email for our updates."

Trying to suppress my paranoia, but to no avail.
