Based on what I've read and heard, USC's program is known for it's leadership component while UCLA's program is known for more traditional book smarts. USC's program is delivered in locked modules and I believe UCLA's program is delivered in traditional classes with electives. Wall Street Journal and Business Week rank USC higher due to the unique leadership material and the rest of the polls rank UCLA higher for the same traditional reasons UCLA's full-time program is rated higher. The BW EMBA forums have some threads that might be of interest. Oh, and UCLA alum are jealous of the cool USC alum. :)

I don't know reputation outside of California, but USC seems to dominate networking in Southern California.
