Hey everyone,
Has anyone interviewed with UCLA for their MSBA program? I just got the invite so I’m wondering what kind of questions they ask besides the typical “what are your goals/why MSBA/etc” I’ve interviewed for and gotten into other MSBA programs but UCLA seems to have an emphasis on quantitative skills for applicants. Any help or insight is appreciated!!

Hi
akudrimo19,
Yes, UCLA adcom has categorically said that they are looking for applicants with a very strong quants background and any applicant who has done well in the quants side of GMAT will have a relative competitive advantage.
Some of our clients recently interviewed for UCLA and UC Davis's MSBA and here are a few of the questions they were asked (Besides the goal based and profile based questions like why UCLA, What are your goals, etc)
- Though you great with numbers, why is your GMAT quant score less than 90%ile?
- How would you measure inter-nationality? ( Where did you get this question?)
- How many chocolate bars do you think are consumed in the state of California?
- How many air conditioners are there are in USA? Tell us any tool that will aid you in this calculation.
- Which domain or sub-domain of analytics interests you?
- Since you are very quantitatively inclined, why not consider our MS in Stats program? Why MSBA specifically?
- Which latest innovation in analytics has caught your attention?
