hey i wanted to know your gmat score and gpa etc cuz am still doing my final year undergrad engg.i d like to know wat sorta profiles does uiuc accept for ms in finance

Hi all, I have secured admit into the UIUC MSF 2012 program for June intake.. I was wondering if we could discuss our preparation for the academics and also for our living there at Illinois..

Also, if we can form a group of Indian students migrating to US , we could form a group to assist each other..

1. 1.5 years in TCS
2. Electrical Engg from Bangalore
3. 740 GMAT and 70 % in Engg
4. 100% non Finance background:-) (Need assistance here guys to prepare myself..)

Really need to know wat areas I would have to brush up before class..

Hi guys,
My name is Shravan S and I too got an offer of admit from UIUC MSF.
My profile is as follows:

GMAT:630
(Q:48 and V:27)
TOEFL:101
work experience: 26 months in Ericsson India Pvt Ltd.
Place: Bangalore,India.
did my B.E from telecommunications

totally non finance background. I need some help here...
I haven't got any mail regarding scholarship information.
I have already paid the initial deposit... but I have just had an interview with Tulane university also (their MSF program is ranked 10th in the WORLD). It went well..
since i already paid the deposit, i was wondering if they would give it back if i decide to finally not take up their offer.
any news on this would be helpful....

can u guys also tell ur stories/queries so that we can all share our thoughts...
i also want to know if we can get any on-campus jobs and more importantly, will there be time to work given that the course is just 12 months...

Hi all, First of all congrats on making it to one of the best MiF programs out there!! :D

Here's my query: although I am really interested in joining a top MiF program in 2013, I have to be honest to admit that my family really doesn't have that sort of financial resources to self-fund an MiF degree from the US. We will have to make a lot of efforts to do that (e.g. selling some property etc.) but it can still be managed (my sis is settled in the US only though for the past 6-7 years although on a work-visa only, I am not sure how that may help me with student-loans). So I want to ask you guys: what sort of funding options do people like me have over there? Are there ample opportunities for scholarships/financial aids?? (as far as I have heard, USA is still better than any of the european institutes in these regards hands down)

Profile: IIT grad with strong undergraduate background in finance, CFA level 2 candidate, Working at No. 1 Healthcare Company in their marketing division (also had two internships at Fortune 500 companies but both NOT finance), CGPA 7.3/10
