The ultimate GMAT Online Private Tutoring Comparison – COMPARE & SELECT THE BEST

Private tutoring is by far the best way to prepare for the GMAT. Online tutoring has the huge advantage to be accessible from everywhere in the world. Some companies offer online private tutoring for substantially less than in-person tutoring because travel and facility costs are eliminated. There is no other GMAT prep option that leads to higher score improvements and with e-learning software like WebEx the online lessons are highly interactive and perfectly simulate the in-person tutoring experience.

This thread compares 23 hours online private tutoring offers of the leading test prep companies on gmatclub.com.

In our opinion we took the most important factors into consideration: These are:

    - How many GMAT practice test are included
    - Is there a GMAT score or FULL REFUND (no course re-taking) guarantee included
    - Are the tutors GMAT experts who scored in the 99th percentile
    - Is it possible to get a FREE trial hour
    - Price

The following table compares these factors and gives you an overview!

More information about the price calculation:

We compared 23 hour packages because it is the most popular package of Optimus Prep and is an appropriate amount of hours for most students. Many companies don’t offer 23 hour packages but 20 hour packages (each company has different packages which makes it hard to compare). In this case we took the total price for 20 hours, divided it by 20 and multiplied it with 23 to get the best possible estimate. For example, 20 hours of online private tutoring at ManhattanGMAT cost $4,600. This is equal to $230 per hour.

Therefore, 23 hours would cost $5,290 ($230 x 20 hours).

The following overview will list the price range of online private tutoring per hour for each company. Usually the more hours you take the lower is the rate:

Princeton Review:

$135-$275/hr (depending on the tutor)

Veritas Prep:

$193-$245/hr (12 hour vs. 36 hour package)

Kaplan:

$142-$186/hr (15 hour vs. 35 hour package)

Manhattan GMAT:

$225-$250/hr (5 hour vs. 25 hour package)

Optimus Prep:

$100-$120/hr (12 hour vs. 34 hour package)
