ok guys,
this has to be the strangest year......

i just came back from S E Asia with many a strange story.....

Now I am sitting in Chicago having a few beers with my friends and surfing online to buy my plane ticket for NYC...
I opened hotmail after 2 weeks.. and was about to delete my junk email....when I see an invite for interview from UCLA......

So I am about to move to NYC.. I got some job interviews with some companies in IB... I just opened my own business (dont ask dont tell).... .all my stuff is in storage.... this is after the post MBA denial phase..

So what do I do?

Do I tell UCLA to stuff it and sod off and reapply to schools in 2009 or take the chance and do the interview,albeit an off campus one...

This is after my GSB ding, my cornell ding, my cbs W/L and my total lack of interest in doing an MBA in 2008... especially with the job market and me starting to dabble in some interesting stuff (movies and motorcycles)

and how do i explain to them why i am in NYC and why I cant give them my original transcripts coz the documents are lying in a public storage in hollywood.....

Do you want UCLA though? Seems to be low on your spectrum of schools. Does not look like you have much to lose, which means to me that you will come off strong and confident. I'm sure they will take you, but do you want it?

Avi, I would do the interview.

You applied to Anderson for a reason and unless your goals to get into IB have changed, no reason for you to look down on this opportunity. If you attend the interview and get in, then you will still have the option of turning them down later.

I would say go for it. You have nothing to lose but an hour of your time. If they accept you, you have an extra option. If not, then you've lost nothing.

Anyway, will visit you in NYC this summer. We need to chat bud!

As for UCLA, TAKE IT. No "what ifs", remember? :) Take it, see where it goes, and then decide if you do get in. If you don't, you'll never know what the possibilities would have been.
