I was supposed to give my gmat focus edition exam today. But wasn't allowed to give the exam due to name mismatch.
So for the exam registration I had given my name as xxxxxx. y(initial). In all my Indian IDs including PAN, Aadhar my name is in this format except for passport where it is in the form xxxxxx yyyyyyy (Elaborated Initials). I have to give the exam asap so, I am planning to schedule the exam again, soon after the name change at mba.com.I want to know whether there are any chances of refund or what can be done now?
Any advice/recommendations are highly appreciated.

Hi. I’m sorry about the name issue. There are dozens or maybe even hundreds now topics and discussions in this situation. It’s quite unfortunate and really a challenge that spends decades now.
Unfortunately, I have not seen GMAC offering any kind of refund or reschedule option. It doesn’t mean they will not, there’s always the first time so perhaps you can request for a partial credit or something like that and see if there’s a chance.

Thanks for the response. How can i convey my concern to GMAC, through mail?
I hope GMAC looks into this issue empathetically and bring in realistic solutions. A gentle note in the application form that name should be as per passport would save many. It literally was trauma for me today when I had to come to terms that I will not be able to take the exam at the last moment and i'll loose my application fee- all for an honest clerical mistake.
Will I be able to update name in a day or two with help of GMAC customer care? Once updated, can I reapply immediately within this week? since I hadn't attempted the exam today, will the 16 days buffer to reapply will be applicable to me?
