My interview was strong, but I tried to indicate how I felt UNC stood out from the pack, but I wonder if I didn't give them the impression that there were other viable contenters that I just might go to over them.

F ..them...It's their loss ...if i remember correctly, you travelled to the school for an interview....very few people care to travel for UNC( which is not even an Elite ) ..No offense to admits..what more they expect !!!!

Best of luck for the other schools....

I was waitlisted R2, and I just got an admitted this round!

I'm glad UNC didn't drag out the final decision, the last month hasn't been fun.

I wish I could say I've had similar drama in terms of not being able to see my decision or other above mentioned incidents. I have been admitted, but because of my Ross admit on Friday and my desire to stay in the Midwest (I'm a bit of a masochist) I will be giving up my spot. Good luck to all those still waiting.

You are going to reject a school because of the time it took to deliever the decision?

I did go to visit and yes it sucks under those circumstances... but I did get 20k/yr from Kelley and it was going to be hard to top that $$.

It's awesome that you have an alternative that works. besides, the midwest is great.

Aaud, I'm having the same problem. I got the email, went to the link, could not for the life of me see where the decision was. :(

EDIT: Aaud, check now. Mine was fixed. Admit! :-D

I love the housing in Indiana... it is dirt cheap. An apt there that you could pick up for 500-700 would probably cost 1000+ in Boston.

cmns: Tell them to give your spot to me!

Anyone think that age plays a big role? I'm 33, almost 34. My GPA was low (2.9) from a couple bad semesters almost 15 years ago. I finished up my last 3 years/core classes with around a 3.75 and graduated back in 1997. 740 on my GMAT..good interview, good essays reviewed by several academincs including a recruiter for Duke. I really wonder, as does everyone else I'm sure, what kept me out (wait listed). I thought the GMAT would be the best indicator of my current ability..could a 15 year old bad freshman year have done it? Or, am I too old at 33?

*sigh*

obviously not extremely wrong. you got two admits to good schools, both with a sweet pile of money on top.

I got admitted to UNC with age almost 33. My undergrad GPA was 2.9 and my grad was 3.4. But I am an international applicant though.

I believe that UNC students have a wide range in age and the school loves applicants with strong and diverse experiences.

True, aaud, you always put the positive forward first. Oh well i still am praying for Cornell or UVA although my chances are looking worse and worse by the day!

I would say that I was not competitive beyond #18 due to work experience. I agree with Ryme that my position lacks management experience or a sexyness factor. Brokerage is just too menial. Granted I am happy that I have taken the position that I have and I have learned all that I have learned here and I have learned a great deal, but it doesn't have the impact of some other positions. Also at 39m on matriculation that is a bit light for the top. I probably could have made it higher up the ranks with a few more years down and a few promotions, but I am happy with things as they worked out. This is definately not a sob post... I'm quite happy with the way things worked out and I am not going to not go this year because I didn't break higher in the ranks. But if you want my guess as to why I didn't... thats it. Work Ex and GMAT Q score. :)

Well, I got a fellowship email from them, so I figured I was in. And then I looked at the web site again, and there were the fabled red letters, just as you all said!

So congrats to those of you who received good news. And to those who didn't, I am sure that there is good news ahead -- if you haven't already received it!!

I'm in! I was waitlisted in R2, so this was a huge surprise. I was sure it was going to be continued waitlist at best, more likely a ding.
