Hello all,
I'm a soon-to-be 24-year old fellow from the Caribbean, aiming for a 700+ score (looking to apply to the top b-schools in France, for their Masters in Management programs).
I took the GMAT the first time (after a month or so of preparation) in July 2013. I had previously taken the GMATPrep Tests 1 & 2 once each, and reviewed all of the Quant-related
MGMAT books, taking notes and doing many of the practice exercises in it, as well as about a hundred questions from both the OG 13 and the OG Quant books.
(All untimed, no error log, etc.)Here was the breakdown:
GMAT Prep 1 (Jun 18th): 670 (Q41, V41, IR7)
GMAT Prep 2 (Jul 13th): 700 (Q44, V41, IR8)
The Real Thing (Jul 19th, 11am): 660 (Q39, V41, IR6, AWA 5.5).I got rather nervous and may or may not have missed answering the last questions in both IR & Quant. I was definitely rushing at the end of the Quant section, which shows I had definite nerves and time management issues.
So, I have it rescheduled for the last Friday of this month (November '13). I recently discovered GMATClub's array of questions, and found them useful, but I am not sure how best to integrate them with my studying for this month. What should be my plan of action?
I have tons of free time, and aim to between 3-6 hours work a day (in 90-120min blocks). My idea of a study plan was to:Spend first 7-10 days re-reviewing the MGMAT books, all 5 Quant PLUS the Sentence Correction guide (while Verbal seems to come fairly easily to me, no reason why I couldn't bump V41 to 42-44, right?)
Do OG Questions in 20, 30 and 40 question increments (I have a stopwatch AND countdown timer app for use now),
starting by Week 2 (Nov 9th, let's say?)GMAT Club questions***: I don't know how best to use these in conjunction with my studies. Also, they seem to be kicking my ass half the time, cementing my belief that I "get" but don't really GET the Quant concepts and their application.Do a GMATPrep test 5-7 days (so 4 tests total) till the BIG Day comes.***A note: I mean the questions available via the question directories in the forums; I did not purchase the GMATClub 3-month access to CATs, though did take advantage of them when they were free a couple days ago.Is my approach a viable one for this one month-retake strategy?
Thanks in advance to any responders!
