Hi All,
A couple of weeks back i took my GMAT after 3 months of preparation . In all the Mocks that i was taking , was getting a score in the range 580 to 640, with 640 being my last GMAT PREP score .My Quants score started from 38 and was gradually increased to 44 . Whereas, my Verbal score was stagnant between 28 to 30 . Hoping to get between 600 to 680 i took my GMAT . But to my utter shock it was 420 (Q38 V12 )
. I had never got this score even when attempting my first GMAT mock without preparation .
I knew i was a bit weak in maths (Alas! an IT Engineer from India , very rear to hear this statement ) , but was confident of my verbal score to increase a bit. But this score threw me out . I had even scheduled my TOEFL the next week hoping i would get a decent score to get into a reasonably good school ,as i was targeting MIS course .
So The next week , prepared for TOEFL , and as expected did reasonably well . Now i am back to square one with no idea how to proceed . Having read about eGMAT's courses and was impressed with its free trial . So I have joined e-GMAT's Verbal live prep course . Have decided to concentrate on Verbal with only eGMATs material and nothing else. But the main problem is i have no idea how to proceed with Quant prep . Should i start from the scratch solving all the questions ? Or target specific weak areas ? I am having 4GMATs books, GMAT Club Quant book, Gmatclub tests(got with eGMATs purchase) and OG13 as reference material . Want to know if GMAT MATH BOOK is sufficient or should Concentrate on 4GMAT books .
It would be of real help if someone help me with this and give an idea how to proceed .

4GMAT quants books to learn concepts and to solve tough problems are good.
e-gmat should be better for Verbal. The SC course is really good. The CR course is decent. The way they have structured their course is really simple and good. My friends have tried Mangoosh and say that the course is good.
What I would advice is that you shouldn't force yourself.
I guess you are desperate to finish your GMAT as soon as possible and that itself would put pressure on you. (You can count on me as I too did give gmat in a hurry and I used to get 650 plus scores in my mock. But on the final day hit a bad 530)
For Quants, more practice is the key. Try to understand the your weakness. For example you may be weak in Probability, number theory... Do a lot of problems. You 4GMAT books. You will certainly improve if you give it a 2 months of hardcore practice.
For Verbal, you just have to work hard. Study daily. Spend 2 months of time with Verbal.
Work on different question types and I am sure you will hit the desired score of 650 plus.
