To develop greater understanding of the native people inhabiting Orangeland, the researchers plan to hire a few university students from nearby Orangetown -
1.who are familiar with the native nation i.e. traditional native customs, and
2. whose university studies focus on native populations.

To conclude that the student's knowledge of traditional native customs may contribute to a greater understanding of the native people, we must assume that these students will have some edge because of their knowledge.

Let's look at the choices

A. There are native students at the university who the students can talk to.
The availability of probable better option (i.e. connecting to native students) does not diminish or nullify the impact of other method( i.e. students from nearby)
B. The student representatives have a reasonably strong understanding of the native populations as a result of their studies.
This is expected from the argument. Hold on.
C. Native students would be a better source of information than non-native students studying native populations.
Are the native students available? Will they join the researcher? We don't know.
The availability of probable better option (i.e. connecting to native students) does not diminish or nullify the impact of other method.

D. Modern technologies available to the researchers allow them to study the native people without direct contact.
We don't assume it. We don't know if there is any modern method.
E. Most or all native sites are not available in Orangeland.
Even if many of the sites (say 49% of the native sites) are available in Orangeland, the argument holds true. This is not to be assumed to conclude.

IMO B

Well done Sumi1010! Kudos to you for cracking the code on this one! :)
