Hello,

Thank you for the update. I was just going through the LinkedIn website and somebody posted that GMAC has removed the eight-time lifetime attempt on the Gmat exam. Here is the link: https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/ur ... 290738688/. Just to reconfirm I also checked with the mba.com website where it says that The GMATTM Offers Unlimited Potential - Literally. Finally. My personal opinion is that it was a draconian, anachronist rule for all the test takers.

I completely agree with you. I hope some of the re-test takers who were unable to reach their target scores are a bit relieved now. The only thing that worries about in the test now is the money and time to be invested.

That is an inevitable collateral effect.

In my view, after 5 or at most 6 failed scores, GRE is a good alternative

Maybe, there is no right or wrong answer to it. However, I have observed in some exceptional scenarios that students who are unable to achieve their target scores after their 5th or 6th attempt can reach to target scores on their 8th attempt. It all depends from individual to individual and your understanding of how the test functions. Yes, the GRE could be the best option for those who are not so good at their quantitative skills.

Great point.

In my experience those who have had a good score after so long are more an exception because on the long run your weakness tend to consolidate.

Certainly it is a complex issue to figure out even for the most skilled tutor.

But the hope must be in place. We never know.
