Hi everyone!
I am new to the club , and have doubt regarding the unofficial score report you obtain on the test day.
Does this unofficial score include the IR score and the PERCENTILE?
Dear
avanishk,
I'm happy to help!
See this link at mba.com:
https://www.mba.com/us/the-gmat-exam/gma ... eport.aspxThere, the folks at GMAC verify that, yes, as part of the unofficial score report you receive on test day, you definitely receive the IR score, right there as soon as you are done with your GMAT. This is a change: when the IR was first released a couple years ago, the IR score was not on the unofficial score report, and folks had to wait for it. Now it is on the day-of-test unofficial score report. Because there's been a change, folks are confused about this.
Now, they make no statement about what percentiles are shared when, but if they are giving you the IR score, and every IR score has its own percentile ranking, I can't imagine why they wouldn't give you the IR percentile as well. They give the percentiles for the other scores, so they must give the percentile for the IR score as well. That's what I think.
I guess one question I have for you is:
why does this matter? If I may give you some advice: one deep paradox of test preparation is that the more your focus on the details of your score, the harder it will be to achieve a high score. For a discussion of this paradox, see:
