Hi oishik2910,

The CAT results that you listed are fairly strong, so it's not obvious what your actual concerns are. I'd like to know a bit more about how you took these CATs and your overall goals:

When you took your CATs:
1) Did you take the ENTIRE CAT each time (including the Essay and IR sections)?
2) Did you take them at home?
3) Did you take them at the same time of day as your Official GMAT?
4) Did you ever do ANYTHING during your CATs that you couldn't do on Test Day (pause the CAT, skip sections, take longer breaks, etc.)?
5) Did you ever take a CAT more than once? Had you seen any of the questions BEFORE?

And as to your goals:
1) What is your overall score goal?
2) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
3) What Schools are you planning to apply to?

When you took your CATs:
1) Did you take the ENTIRE CAT each time (including the Essay and IR sections)? yes as always never skip the breaks also make it as real as possible
2) Did you take them at home?:yes at home
3) Did you take them at the same time of day as your Official GMAT?not really the same a deviation of 2 hrs or so
4) Did you ever do ANYTHING during your CATs that you couldn't do on Test Day (pause the CAT, skip sections, take longer breaks, etc.)? nothing i remember of
5) Did you ever take a CAT more than once? Had you seen any of the questions BEFORE?in GMAT prep test i saw 2 repeats except that all others never repeat the question

And as to your goals:
1) What is your overall score goal?anything around 700 or 700 plus
2) When are you planning to apply to Business School?round 2 this year or maybe round 1 next year and some indian Bschools this year
3) What Schools are you planning to apply to?probably anything in top 15 to top 25 USA .score will decide

and my apprehensions are last time also i was scoring the same in mocks still my score was awful .i have practiced verbal may be 10 times more than last but still not sure weather it will be fruitful ?and i request for extensive study tips that could boost my score (types of questions, specific materials etc )

Hi oishik2910,

If you feel like you're not ready to take the GMAT, then you should push back your Test Date (even if it's just for a couple of weeks) and continue studying. You practice CAT scores imply that you have the ability to hit your score goal on Test Day though, so you might be fine as is. I'm a little concerned about the inconsistencies in which you took these CATs (taking the CATs at home and at a different time of day from your Official GMAT were questionable choices since neither of them 'matches up' with what you'll face on Test Day), but there's nothing that you can do about that now.

With about a week to go before Test Day, you should NOT be doing too much (NO "cramming"). If you're going to take one more practice CAT, then you should do so soon (and not too close to Test Day) AND make sure to take it in a realistic fashion (re: take the FULL CAT - with the Essay and IR sections, take it away from you home, at the same time of day as your Official GMAT, etc.). You would want to have time to review that CAT and do a bit of additional light study and review as needed.
